3D floorplan view for Home Assistant: colored status bubbles + direct device control
We’ve been working on a 3D floorplan dashboard/control view for Home Assistant, and the idea is to make the home status easier to understand at a glance, instead of checking many separate dashboard cards. Colored status bubbles directly on the floorplan, so things like open windows, unlocked doors, lights, and other devices are easier to notice. You can also control devices directly from the 3D v...

3000+ hours of ABS printing exhaust. Stuff is no joke.
I have a casement window. In place of the screen I put a piece of acrylic with a hole in it. The exhaust for 2 prints goes out that hole. My life-Sized Laser-cut Book Nook Celebrating Ballyroan’s Heritage (Ireland)
Made this over 8 weeks with the Ballyroan Men’s shed as part of my “Maker In Residence” programme. Cut out of 8 pieces of 6mm plywood, these panels depict scenes and iconic buildings from Ballyroan and Rathfarnham over the years. This is somewhat incomplete, as it still needs a stronger base, and we are putting an outer skin on it to make it look like a book, but I thought I’d show it in state. ...

I designed a 3D printable shell to repair a click broken Dell MS116. The idea is to reuse the original electronics, print a new body, and give the mouse a second life. Definitely not the kind of model that “performs”. St...
